Overview
Northrise University, the first private university in Zambia, is excited to offer an exceptional opportunity to an individual prepared to lead our Faculty of Science and Human Development (FSHD).
As we continue to expand our academic programs, the Dean of FSHD will oversee our current schools and programs, including nursing, IT, and theology. In addition, the new Northrise School of Engineering will be opening in January 2024. The Dean of FSHD will have significant influence regarding the development and accreditation of new programs, improvement of current programs, hiring faculty and staff, and recruitment of students.

Education Requirements
• An earned terminal degree (Ph.D. preferred) in health sciences and prior successful experience in teaching, curriculum development, academic program management, and
• Master’s degree in nursing with a minimum of three years at a department chair level or higher.
Key Competences
• Minimum five years of professional experience.
• Ability to understand the needs and circumstances of both traditional and adult students and work as a team member.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching at a college level or higher.
• Proven supervisory experience within an academic environment with leadership in the development of academic programs.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Understanding the needs of a student population with diverse cultural, academic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
• In-depth understanding of or background in technical education.
• Embody an administrative style that is collegial and energetic.
• Model a willingness and ability to work cooperatively with diverse constituencies within and outside NU.
• Understand higher education funding streams, including familiarity with grants.
• Be experienced in developing and implementing new programs and be familiar with accrediting boards and agencies.
• Understand informational and educational technology systems related to instructional, administrative, and student needs.
