JSH is implementing the USAID Controlling HIV Epidemic for Key and Underserved Populations
(CHEKUPII) Activity which was awarded on September 13, 2022, with implementation through September 6, 2027. The Activity aims to support the Ministry of Health in mitigating against and attaining HIV epidemic control by increasing equitable access to, and use of person-centered, community-driven, and high-quality HIV prevention services for key and underserved (priority) populations. USAID CHEKUP II Activity operates in seven districts with the highest HIV-burden in Zambia. USAID CHEKUP II Activity seeks dynamic and highly experienced candidates to fill the following vacant positions.

Job Title: District Epidemic Control Centre (DEpiCC) Social Mobilisation and
Economic Strengthening Coordinator
Location: Kasama (1 Position)
Duration: Full-time position
Reports to: DEpiCC Manager

1. Role’s Description
The District Epidemic Control Centre (DEpiCC) Social Mobilisation and Economic Strengthening Coordinator leads the implementation of social mobilization interventions to increase uptake and sustained use of USAID CHEKUP II interventions targeted at key and underserved populations as well as coordinate the Economic Strengthening activities. This is a full-time position to be based in Kasama and will be supervised by the DEpiCC Manager, with secondary technical supervision from the OVC/DREAMS Advisor.

2. Tasks and Responsibilities
• Provide strategic, technical, and programmatic support to all activity areas related to social mobilization in the relevant implementation district.
• Lead engagement and effectively manage relationships with district-level stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health, the National HIV/AIDS Council, and the private sector.
• Coordinate implementation of parenting programme and Coaching Boys into Men
• Lead the team in planning and providing technical assistance related to social mobilization in resultsbased management, implementing and monitoring USAID CHEKUP II district-level interventions.
• Lead the implementation of USAID CHEKUP II district-level demand-creation and social mobilization interventions, including the Activity's SBC campaigns
• Coordinate the roll-out and effective use of MOH and project-approved social behavioural change and social mobilisation products and interventions;
• Establish networks and strategic partnerships to enable sustainable implementation of community-led social behavioural change and social mobilization activities;
• Effectively and efficiently engage chiefdoms, religious, community leaders, and other influencers to increase demand and utilization of CHEKUP II services and products;
• Facilitate training for the ES district team/s on ES concepts, approaches and tools in collaboration with relevant District Coordinators e.g., the SI Coordinator.
• Provide oversight in the implementation of relevant Standard Operating Procedures e.g. the Kozo Girls SOP and Priority Populations at district and DREAMS Site level.
• Support Kozo Girls in market research, securing large orders, and providing oversight on the production and supply of quality products by Kozo Girls.
• Support in the successful implementation of the satellite training programs e.g. Kozo Girls certification training program and identification of internship hosts in close collaboration with ES Connectors and the DEpiCC Manager
• Liaise with private and public sector Vocational Skills Training service providers to ensure the identification and implementation of tailored training curriculum for beneficiaries.
• Lead in profiling and screening of eligible beneficiaries for priority sub-populations based on approved templates.
• Lead in identifying beneficiaries of various alternative pathways for priority sub-populations and link with various service providers (private, public, civil society) in tailored service provision e.g., training in short-term income generating activities (IGA).
• Facilitate incubation and growth of beneficiary business start-ups.
• Facilitate training in key thematic focus areas among the beneficiaries e.g., village savings and loan association model in collaboration with ES district team members
• Implement and adhere to JSH’s personnel, financial, operations and fraud management policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor, consistent with CHEKUP II’s objectives.

3. Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours:
● Undergraduate degree in social work, public health, adult education, development studies or diploma in clinical medicine or public health nursing. A Master’s Degree or its equivalent is an added advantage
● At least four (4) years experiences in the area of community mobilization and SBC for HIV/AIDS, MNCH and RH/FP services and products and economic strengthening;
● Extensive knowledge and experience in implementing effective, and culturally appropriate SBC and social mobilisation interventions
● Experience working with diverse populations and stakeholders, including adolescents, men and (private sector - an added advantage)
● Must have excellent communication (English and language spoken in implementation district), interpersonal, analytical, decision-making, conflict management, empathetic, negotiation and networking skills
