JOB DETAILS:
1. Purpose Of Job:
To undertake driving, maintain and secure the safety of the Council’s vehicles for mobility of officers and goods.

3. Principal Accountabilities (Main Duties)
Driving
Drives carefully allocated vehicle(s) so as to ensure the safety and timely movement of officers and goods.
Inspection of Fitness of Vehicles
Inspects regularly the vehicle(s) roadworthiness so as to avoid road traffic accidents and unnecessary breakdowns.
Compilation of Log-Book
Compiles promptly and orderly the Logbook for all journeys.
Maintenance
Cleaning of the assigned vehicles regularly.
Road rules and regulations
Obey all traffic rules and regulations when driving Council vehicles.

4. Required Qualification And Experience
• Full Grade 12 certificate
• Valid Driver’s Licence
• Good knowledge of motor vehicle mechanics, a certificate in car maintenance is an added advantage
• Three (3) years driving experience
• Ability to drive defensively and anticipate potential hazards
• Written and oral communication
