JOB DETAILS:
Job Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Coordinator – Economic Strengthening – the Economic Strengthening Officer coordinates the implementation of foundational and comprehensive economic strengthening (ES) services using USAID approved financial education, business skills development, employability, and entrepreneurship curricula, including the Siyakha model.

Main duties
1. Develops detailed monthly and quarterly work plan for DREAMS ES interventions for the program implementation sites.
2. Facilitates and coordinates training of AGYW on Siyakha, savings groups, business start-up, value addition and product development.
3. Ensures differentiated service provision, identifying AGYW with potential for different economic career growth and development.
4. Provides technical assistance to the site teams in the implementation of ES interventions
5. Provides training and mentorship to DREAMS center staff on ES
6. Facilitates problem solving and action planning among district level CHEKUP I partners and stakeholders to address critical challenges and barriers to improving ES interventions
7. Contributes to operational research and learning agendas related to ES
8. Prepares district level quarterly and annual reports as required, detailing the performance of the ES intervention
9. Performs any other ES duties as required.
1. Supports M & E team on ES related data collection, data entry, data analysis and presentation
2. Collects and collates ES data for monitoring of program implementation and reporting.
3. Participates in routine data quality assurances (RDQAs) as required.
4. Facilitates market assessments, mobilise for survey and any feasibility assessments on ES.
1. Serves as subject matter expert on ES during engagements with other stakeholders in the district
2. Effectively articulates CHEKUP I economic strengthening approaches to district stakeholders
3. Identifies economic strengthening opportunities in the private and public sectors and link AGYW for promoting employment-readiness, life skills, livelihoods, and entrepreneurship opportunities for AGYW in his/her respective district
4. Builds collaborative relationships with relevant line ministries and stakeholders including banks, vocational training centres, training institutions, private companies, chambers of commence and industry, and community development fund (CDF) local officials.
5. Ensures necessary Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) are updated in the district with relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications
1. Diploma in business administration, economics, finance, development studies or another relevant discipline from an accredited university, with preference for candidates possessing a Bachelor’s degree.
2. At least 5 years of program management and/or technical experience on economic strengthening activities
3. Experience working with NGO, CSO’s and donor agencies having a program component on economic strengthening
4. Experience working with PEPFAR and U.S. Government operations, rules, regulations, procedures, policies, and programs (preferred)
5. Experience on economic strengthening program in HIV prevention, OVC and/or care and support programs
6. Excellent understanding of implementation of comprehensive economic strengthening interventions for AGYW
7. Facilitation skills using participatory methodologies
8. Ability to obtain, analyze, synthesize, and disseminate data and present findings in both oral and written form
9. Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
10. Excellent communication skills in English
11. Must be able to prepare precise and accurate reports and to develop and present briefings
