Q Sourcing Rwanda Limited on behalf of its client in the Energy, Oil & Gas sector is looking for an Electrical Manager for one of its projects in Rwanda.
Job Profile
• Design functional electrical systems for the gas and power plants, including but not limited to earthing and lightning protection systems, lighting systems, protection and control systems, metering systems, layout diagrams, single-line diagrams, schematic and wiring diagrams, cable schedules, load profiles, and bills of materials.
• Experience in power generation, H.V, M.V and LV systems
• Ensure that all designs for the electrical system have high levels of redundancy and are carefully designed to ensure ease of operation and maintenance and minimize any single point of failure.
• Design protection and control systems for all electrical equipment to ensure correct operation under dynamic and transient conditions to avoid damage to equipment and injury to personnel.
• Review of gas plants and power plant designs and equipment technical specifications to ensure that the plants are optimally designed and capable of delivering the required outputs with the desired parameters
• Define and produce clear scope of works and scope limits for contractors, subcontractors and service providers each plant section
• Produce detailed technical specifications and technical schedules for all electrical equipment to ensure correct selection of equipment in accordance with the designs and employer requirements.
• Produce method statements and procedures for the transportation, handling, installation, testing and commissioning of electrical equipment to ensure functionality of electrical equipment and systems.
• Coordinate designs, interfacing works and activities between various sections of the plants and also with the utility grid interconnection and export circuits
• Ensure civil works requirements for all electrical equipment are incorporated in the civil works designs and correctly implemented.
• Manage electrical interfaces and battery limits for each section of the plant
• Coordinate and oversee the handling, movement and installation of all electrical equipment to ensure safe and correct installation.
• Coordinate and oversee the testing and commissioning activities, ensuring that all the commissioning obligations of all plant sections are carried out in accordance with the Grid Code and Employer Requirements.
• Evaluation of suppliers, materials and equipment to ensure total compliance with design specifications and standards
• Providing engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of design, equipment, construction, testing and commissioning issues.
• Ensure production of accurate as-built drawings and testing documentation
• Ensure successful execution of all works on time, with high quality standards and within budget
• Ensure that high standards of Safety, Quality and Environmental policies are adhered to and implemented at all times
