JOB DETAILS:
3. Duties
Under the direct supervision of Energy Officer, the UN Community Intern will:
• Ensure the involvement and buy-in of all relevant local stakeholders including local and national Governments to the process of designing BADEA project and new climate action projects for PoCs and host communities, that data collection and assessment work is conducted in an ethical manner, in line with all relevant national and UNHCR guidelines.
• Organize technical missions and fieldwork, drafting mission agendas and organising the logistics and access permissions and do so in close collaboration with other technical units e.g. WASH, health, education etc.
• Participate in the energy baseline survey that will highlight the energy requirements, and informing the design and choice specific, appropriate Renewable Energy Systems to be deployed in settlements and Lusaka.
• Provide Capacity building (community-based approaches on management, operation and maintenance of solar mini-grids and public lights).
• Play an active role in Lighting facilities assessment, Physical and safety mapping (including Ranking exercise) and Sizing and designing of solar PV systems.
• Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

Must be a current student and have completed at least two years of undergraduate study, or must have graduated within the last two years from a graduate/undergraduate school programme from an accredited university or higher education institution.
