JOB DETAILS:
Matt Children’s Hope Foundation (MCHF) is a start-up nonprofit with registration No. RNGO 101/0956/2019 a section 16 under the Non-Governmental Organization Registration Act of 2019 of the laws of Zambia. It operates towards specific objectives to improve the rural lives of children. It commits its efforts to scale down the levels of poverty by observing its goal; “World of Positive Minds and Free from Poverty”. MCHF’s mission incurs to eradicate poverty through a change of mindset through holistic deliberate interventions in education, health, promoting and enabling quality services to vulnerable rural communities of Zambia. In this regard, it wishes to hire a non-paid-volunteer (for a start), Fundraising Manager, as the organisation leads its early stage.
Role of the Position:
MCHF is pleased to invite applications for a Fundraising Manager position. The Fundraising Manager will be responsible for the fundraising activities of Matt Children’s Hope Foundation. He or she will lead the identification of existing and new funding opportunities and support the proposal development team in the fundraising process.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Identify and explore existing and alternative funding options suitable for MCHF funding needs
• Oversee sponsorship funding operations to ensure quality and timely management of funding and sponsorship communications
• Undertake donor scoping and mapping in line with the MCHF objection.
• Lead in updating the Fundraising Strategy in line with the strategic plan
• Undertake to go/no go analysis for available funding opportunities
• Oversee the maintenance of a sponsorship funding base through the recruitment, retention and relationship management of sponsors and the children they support
• Oversee maintenance of sponsorship targets, standards, and communication as well as sharing of learning on sponsorship developments
• Compile comprehensive quarterly and annual fundraising reports
• Monitor donor activities to ensure that relationships, follow-up, and reporting are being managed appropriately
• Negotiate implementations of contracts and MoUs with donors and partners
• Support proposal development teams in the fundraising process
• Identify new and potential funding opportunities in Zambia, regional and donor community
• Identifying and mapping opportunities already in existence at the country and regional levels
• Lead in the implementation of resource mobilization strategy through the contextualization of any funding opportunity in line with the MCHF policies.
• Build alliances with donors, corporations and NGOs to support MCHF work
• Responsible for diversification of programme funding to achieve a healthy mix of sponsorship and institutional donor funding.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or its equivalent from a recognized University
• Demonstrated understanding of national and international aid environment and trends
• Conversant with the national socio-economic and political environment
• Proven research, analytical, communication and report writing skills
• Good contacts and relationships with people working in donor agencies nationally and internationally
• At least 5 years of professional experience in inter-institutional relationship management, programme development and fundraising
