  Job Purpose
• As a Director (in terms of statutory appointment) and / or prescribed officer exercises general executive control over and management of the business and activities of the company & manufacturing site;
• regularly participates to a material degree in the exercise of general executive control over and management (of the whole) or a significant portion, of the business and activities of the company.
The Executive is responsible to look after the company. (20%)
• Acts in terms of statutory limits of authority and foster a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices, encourages individual integrity, and fulfils social responsibility objectives and imperatives (15%)
• Acts in terms of fiduciary duty to safeguard and promote the interest of the company in securing overall profitability, sustainability and growth (20%)
• Provide strategic advice and guidance to the MSU Head / Chairman and the members of the Executive, to keep them aware of developments within the industry and to ensure that the appropriate policies are developed to meet the company’s mission and objectives and to comply with all relevant statutory and other regulations (15%)
• Jointly accountable for Safety and Risk in country. Responsible for Media Liaison (10%)
• Acts as the senior leader responsible for the Manufacturing Site to ensure compliance with all applicable local laws and Akzo Nobel’s HSE&S rules & procedures as well as implementing the ISC / Manufacturing Strategy & Objectives as they apply to the Zambia Site.

Job Requirements
• Bachelor Degree or Equivalent qualification in a Business or related field. Marketing qualification and / or Marketing experience enabling competence within this field at a senior level of functioning.
• A minimum of 5 to 7 years working experience in Sales. Additional 3-5 years in Marketing.
• Proven experience in managing a medium sized team
• Proven ability to identify business opportunities and develop appropriate strategies and relationships that deliver sales results within a diverse and challenging business climate.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, financial, influencing and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with key decision makers at all levels at customer accounts Excellent organizational and writing skills.
• Can lead from the front, delivering the ideas that will ensure we provide our customers with their needs
• Comfortable at negotiating contracts and excels at achieving targets and is resilient in negotiations
• Process-orientated, fact-based and a strong sense of urgency
• Ability to successfully implement marketing communication & activation plans
• Able to translate local market data into valuable markets insights
• Board level experience with breadth and depth of knowledge in statutory requirements ideally within a global enterprise..
