Qualifications And Experience
• Minimum Required Qualifications and
• Experience:
• Grade Twelve Certificate
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field
• 8 years’ experience in IT management, strategy, and delivery.
• A strong understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and emerging technologies.
• Familiarity with software development, network administration, cybersecurity, and database management.
• Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
• Master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or a technology-related discipline.
• A minimum of ten years of pertinent experience in IT management and leadership roles, with a specific emphasis on not-for-profit sector involvement accounting for at least five of those years.

Key Performance Areas
• Planning and executing IT strategies
• Develop and implement strategic IT plans that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
• Identify emerging technologies and trends to formulate effective IT strategies and initiatives that lead to competitiveness.
• Prioritize projects based on their alignment with business goals, and criticality.
• Drive the transition and change management approaches for all IT related innovations and projects.
• Develop system strategy and manage its implementation, i.e., all stages (planning, estimation, execution of individual application development and integration projects to ensure technical, financial, and quality targets are met.
• Develop and maintain the strategic direction of the technology platform ensuring that the architecture supports the business strategy and best quality-of-service for the business.
• IT Governance, ICT Risk Management and Compliance
• Develop or review and manage an ICT policy framework, including information security policy, and associated security, equipment, general IT, and governance policies.
• Oversee IT audits and ensure that RTCZ maintains a clean audit report by proactively monitoring IT security controls, taking corrective action in respect of IT audit findings.
• Drive IT service management practices, continuous improvement initiatives and educate staff on IT security compliance.
• Identify risks, develop mitigation plans and prepare relevant information to present residual risks.
• Constantly monitor and evaluate IT processes, procedures, and operations for improvement and to identify and manage IT risks.
• Ensure that IT policies, processes and procedures are adhered to through regular training and awareness campaigns.
• Develop and implement the ICT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Strategy and associated plans while ensuring alignment of the strategy to business requirements.
• IT Infrastructure and System Management
• Management of platform operations including platform stability and uptime of medium to large scale IT infrastructure (Network, Telcom, server, storage) including project proposals and plans as well as implementation of network monitoring tools.
• Maintain overall health of the LAN, WAN, telephony, multi-function devices and service environments by leading health checks with various stakeholders.
• Organize, manage, and lead multiple project implementations in a fast-paced IT environment across multiple functional teams.
• Manage the provision of application maintenance and support services, either directly or via third party support agreements.
• Manage the installation, configuration, upgrade, administration, monitoring and maintenance of databases.
• Leadership, Staff Development, Stakeholder Management, and Committee Representation
• Lead and manage a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship.
• Promote a culture of high performance, continuous learning, and professional growth within the IT team. Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide feedback to enhance team performance.
• Monitor the performance of the IT department through various mechanism and KPIs including performance against the IT department service charter.
• Prepare and deliver regular reports to the Line Manager, Executive Team and Audit Risk and IT Governance Committee of the Board of Directors, summarizing the state of IT and its impact on the organization.
• Represent the IT department in the Management Committee (MANCO) for Right to Care Zambia.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including the Executive Team, to understand business requirements and align IT initiatives.
• Act as a liaison between the IT department and other business units, fostering strong relationships and promoting collaboration
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of IT solutions and projects.
• Communicate IT strategies, plans, and progress to stakeholders in a clear and effective manner.
• Liaise with IT vendors (network, airtime, etc.) to ensure optimal service delivery.
