JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
The Manager Applications will take the lead in identifying the best applications for the Bank/business’s needs, installing the software, and upgrading and repairing the software as needed. Drive convergence of technologies, ensure delivery of technology projects associated with applications and liaise and negotiate with internal customers and technology vendors. Making recommendations on whether to upgrade the existing systems or install new ones.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborating on software development projects with the engineering, sales, and customer services departments.
• Establish measures and reporting that reflect business, user, and IT support requirements with regard to application availability.
• Researching and procuring software applications that will contribute to the success of the Bank
• Installing, configuring, monitoring and maintaining those applications as and where necessary
• Analyzing business operations and the business’s computer systems and determining which software applications could improve efficiency
• Leading teams of IT specialists in the implementation and upgrading of network hardware and software.
• Writing code and scripts for applications, as well as installing, maintaining, and testing applications.
• Determine the availability requirements from the business for new or enhanced IT applications.
• Define the key targets of availability required for the applications and their components that underpin a new or enhanced IT application as the basis for an SLA agreement
• Through the Field Technicians provide Customers with onsite technical support.
• Optimizing applications by integrating new technologies and performing upgrades.
• Contributing to sales presentations, as well as demonstrating prototypes and completed applications.
• Performing diagnostic tests and debugging procedures, as well as improving code and re-designing tasks.
• Participate in Change Control meetings to assess and authorize changes from an availability perspective.
• Assist in SLA negotiation efforts from an availability capability standpoint.
• Monitoring the roll-out of new software applications to ensure there are no problems.
• Troubleshooting and resolving any problems with business application software.
• Creating and overseeing protocols and procedures for the use of any new software applications.
• Training employees on the use of any new software applications and maintaining a good work atmosphere.
• Managing local area networks, installing and maintaining routers, generating email addresses, and creating passwords and backups.
• Creating, executing, and maintaining company databases.
• Maintaining up-to-knowledge with the latest software/applications developments.
• Documenting development processes, procedures, and application version histories.

Qualifications and Experience
• Degree in Programming, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Or a Related Technical Field
• Must have a minimum of 5 – 7 years of IT working experience in a
Commercial Bank or well Established Financial Institution managing
Applications
• Certification in Applications or Software Management will be a plus
• Must have a clear understanding of current Banking Rules and Regulations
• Must be exposed to Architecture Planning
• Broad Banking working knowledge of computer networking, installation, and administration.
• Experience with database management and project management.
• Excellent technical skills.
• Must possess a deep understanding of the software development cycle.
• Expertise in troubleshooting viruses and other computer problems.
• Proven ability to remain up-to-date with the latest software developments.
• Strong Leadership, Management & Customer Service Skills.
• Great Analytical Skills.
