ZESCO/020/2023
ZESCO Limited annually clears the wayleave for the power lines throughout the country. This exercise is undertaken to protect power lines from the bush fires.
ZESCO Limited now invites Co-operatives to submit the following requirements to be considered for the 2023 wayleave clearance exercise throughout the country on a one- off contract basis at ZESCO's standard rates per hectare of K500.00. The allocation of the wayleave to the Co-operatives SHALL be per district/town and selected lines in line with ZESCO's requirements.

Duly registered Co-operatives intending to be considered for participation in the ZESCO 2023 wayleave clearance exercise must submit the following as minimum qualifying criteria:
(a) Proof of registration with the registrar of societies/PACRA, copy of certificate;
(b) Provide contact details such as telephone or mobile numbers for the executive committee members where applicable;
(c) Provide proof of Zambian nationality of the executive members of the Co- operatives in form of copies of national registration cards;
(d) Documentary evidence from the Government through the District commissioners that the Co-operative is in the region and domiciled in that district;
(e) The submission should state the selected town/district. No Co-operative shall be allowed to apply to carry out bush clearing in an area where they are not based/have no physical presence; and
(f) Provide evidence of ability to mobilize relevant labour to undertake the works within the prescribed time.
Submission procedure
The submissions must be deposited at various ZESCO Regional offices in the respective districts or towns clearly marked "INVITATION FOR THE EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR DULY REGISTERED CO-OPERATIVES TO BE CONSIDERED FOR PARTICIPATION IN ZESCO 2023 WAYLEAVE CLEARANCE EXERCISE- ZESCO/020/2023" and addressed to the Head Procurement. LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Kindly note that submission of applications does not automatically mean award of contract.
The closing date for receipt of submissions shall be Friday, 24th March 2023 at 10:30 hours local time.
