Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Maintenance Lead with a Technical background to oversee the comprehensive maintenance program for Hungry Lion Zambia.
Utilizing your strong analytical and problem-solving skills, you will oversee the maintenance aspect of our business, ensuring the optimal performance and uptime of critical equipment, while implementing preventative strategies to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime. This role plays a vital role in ensuring a safe and operational environment for both staff and customers.

Duties / Responsibilities:
• Lead and provide performance feedback to ensure a high level of service and adherence to company standards
• Develop, implement, and manage a preventative maintenance program specifically tailored to QSR equipment (Pressure Fryers, Ice Cream Machines, HVAC systems, etc.), adhering to manufacturer recommendations and industry best practices
• Leverage engineering principles to optimize maintenance processes, including scheduling routine maintenance, allocating resources efficiently, and streamlining workflows to ensure minimal disruption to restaurant operations
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, performing repairs within your expertise and coordinating with qualified vendors for complex issues. Maintain a focus on minimizing downtime and ensuring a prompt return to service
• Manage a cost-effective spare parts inventory, ensuring timely procurement, proper storage to meet service needs, and implementation of controls to prevent waste or overstocking
• Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive safety protocols encompassing preventative measures and response procedures for the maintenance team and restaurant staff, fostering a safe and secure work environment
• Conduct thorough root cause analysis of equipment failures to identify underlying issues and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences
• Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies specific to QSR maintenance, continuously seeking opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technical Qualification
• Minimum of 4 years of demonstrably successful experience in a maintenance role in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
• In-depth understanding of preventative maintenance principles for commercial kitchen equipment, refrigeration systems, and HVAC systems
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on identifying root causes of equipment issues and implementing swift and effective solutions
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively, manage multiple responsibilities, and adapt to changing demands
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor, even under pressure, and foster a positive and collaborative working relationship with the restaurant team
