The key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the following:
• Translate business strategies into actionable operational plans, driving execution, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
Manage the timely submission of forecasts, business plans, and financial information to MTNZ/Group Finco while ensuring accuracy in financial data.
• Initiate, manage, and provide input into finance-related projects, analysing profitability and advising the business accordingly.
• Oversee and coordinate the Mobile Financial Services forecast, budget, and business plan processes, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local standards.
• Facilitate smooth data flow between various teams and financial systems, ensuring accurate financial projections and reports.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders, proactively addressing concerns and ensuring service delivery improvements.
• Oversee the integration of multiple financial systems (ECW, Netsuite, Hyperion), ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reporting integrity.
• Lead the MTN Group Audit process, ensuring financial reporting adheres to IAS/IFRS and that all regulatory requirements are met.
• Oversee liquidity management, foreign currency risk, and treasury operations, ensuring effective cash management and
resolution of issues in a timely manner.
• Supervise the financial reporting team, implement policies to improve financial clarity, and optimize reporting processes
for increased efficiency.
Candidate Requirements
• Grade 12 certificate with 5 credit or better of which English and Mathematics are a must.
• B.Sc./ BA Accounting and Finance or finance-related course.
• A professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA).
• At least 5 years’ practical working experience in the Finance environment with at least 2 years in mainstream financial reporting in a multinational organization.
• Experience in working with enterprise financial systems and a strong understanding of IFRS & GAAP.
