Inkomoko is a Rwandan company working with SMEs to support their growth. Founded in 2012, Inkomoko identifies Rwandan entrepreneurs and provides them with business training and strategy consulting so that they strengthen their business operations and increase their sales and profitability.
As a part of the MasterCard Foundation project Hanga Ahazaza, Inkomoko is going to serve 300 Small and Medium Entreprises (SMEs) in the Tourism and Hospitality (T&H) sector during the next 3 years. The SMEs will go through Inkomoko’s accelerator program, which is a combination of training, assessment and one-on-one consulting. Inkomoko seeks to build the capacity of its team within particularly the T&H industry in order to serve these businesses in the best way possible.
Scope of work
In collaboration with the Program Manager at Inkomoko, the consultant will develop and execute a 2 day Training of Trainers (ToT) to Inkomoko business advisers (up to 15 people) in the field of T&H.
ToT training should include, but is not limited to

• Challenges facing T&H SMEs in sales, operations, HR and finance
• Specific support that T&H businesses need in order to overcome their challenges in sales,
• Best practices in T&H SMEs
• What is particular about the T&H industry in terms of customers/marketing/financing/sales etc.?
• The T&H industry in Rwanda, where is it now and where is it going?
• Requirements specific for T&H businesses, such as licensing, PSF memberships and others

Inkomoko’s Training Approach
In all trainings Inkomoko focuses less on theory and more on action. We want to know which real steps tourism and hospitality businesses can take today to make their businesses better. We focus on actionable and practical activities that can help entrepreneurs increase their revenues. This means that the training we are looking for should be practical, simple, uses cases, examples and exercises.

Timeline
During the month of May the consultant will develop the training materials and share progress once a week with the Inkomoko Program Manager who will provide feedback. The consultant will give 2 full days ToT to the staff of Inkomoko at the Inkomoko office, potential dates are 29th and 30th of May 2018.
Intellectual Property
Any concepts, guidelines or other materials developed during the contract will be considered as property of Inkomoko.
Profile
The right candidate for this consultancy should have the following qualifications.

• A good understanding of and hands-on experience with T&H businesses in Rwanda
• Extensive training experience with T&H businesses as target audience
• Technical knowledge on best practices for SMEs in the T&H industry
• Knowledge of the T&H industry in Rwanda
