Zambia Airports Corporation Limited is a reputable aviation organisation with a mission to provide world class Airport and Air Navigation Services at the four major airports namely, Kenneth Kaunda in Lusaka, Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe in Ndola, Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula in Livingstone, and Mfuwe International Airport and Ten (10) Provincial and Strategic Airports. This role reports to the Senior Manager Technical Services. The job holder will be responsible for Designing, planning, monitoring and coordinate repairs and maintenance of Zambia Airports Corporation Limited’s Mechanical Engineering Installations and machines obtaining at Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport, and those any other ZACL installation as may be assigned by the supervisor, to ensure smooth facilitation of Airports and Air Navigation Operations.

Key Performance Areas
• Project Identification
• Prepare Project Proposals and Project Briefs.
• Preparation of Preliminary Feasibility Studies to formulate Terms of Reference for tendering.
• Collect and measure accurate engineering data in order to prepare bills of quantities.
• Supervise and co-ordinate selected contractors’ works to ensure adherence to specifications and local operating procedures and conditions and certification of completed works.
• Co-ordinate contracted works with stakeholders to ensure smooth running of the projects.
• Estimate and evaluate cost of carrying out maintenance works and servicing of equipment for management’s action.
• Design and innovate to optimize equipment maintenance processes for efficient utilization of mechanical engineering installations and machinery as required by management.
• Prepare tender documentation for external execution and evaluate the tenders to ensure best compliant contractors are selected.
• Participate in the design review and due diligence undertaking during purchase of equipment to ensure the most relevant equipment are procured which adhere to specifications.
• Supervise and guide subordinates on tasks to ensure adherence to specifications and good workmanship.
• Inspect, maintain, service, modify, rehabilitate and manage all Mechanical Engineering installations and systems obtaining at the Airport which include but not limited to HVAC, Pumps, firefighting installation, aerobridges, Baggage Handling System, Airport Special Vehicles and Diesel Gensets to ensure effective airport operations and safety of all users and recommend appropriate action.
• Develop and oversee the maintenance program for all mechanical engineering installations.
• Prepare monthly report to Management on the status on mechanical engineering installations.

QUALIFICATION
• Grade 12 School Certificate with 6 ‘0’ Level passes and Credits in English, Mathematics and Science
• Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering
• Computer Literate in Engineering Software

EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 3 years post qualifying experience preferably in the construction industry
• Class B Drivers Licence

PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP
• Professional Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia.
