Position Summary:
Working under the guidance of the Provincial Lead, the Medical Supply Chain Manager will provide support to PHO, DHO, and facility staff in strengthening the existing capacity to manage the quantification, ordering and commodity management for advanced HIV disease and non-communicable disease screening, monitoring and management.
Major Responsibilities:
• Active engagement of MOH leadership who can guide and support logistics system strengthening for sustainable HIV/TB commodity security for CD4 testing, TB urine LAM, CrAg testing and availability of medicines such as fluconazole, Amphotericin B, INH, 3HP, 1HP, and Vitamin B6.
• Provide technical support to PHO, DHO, and health facilities to ensure the availability of ART/TB pharmaceutical products and minimize service interruptions due to stockouts.
• Design and guide the implementation of strategies that improve commodity forecasting, ordering and stock management at provincial, district, and facility levels.
• Participate in routine system assessments and where necessary, conduct on-the-job training (OJT) for HCWs on issues that may arise during such assessments.
• Works closely with other partners in promoting common indicators for supply chain activities.
• Provides technical and programmatic expertise to national TWGs, provincial TWGs and representation on the Health Cooperating Partners Groups when requested.
• Increases awareness among various USG agencies on incorporating supply chain management activities during program design, implementation, and planning.
• Represent ICAP at the national and provincial supply chain planning, supply chain review and commodity quantification meetings.
Academic Qualifications
• Full grade 12 certificate
• Minimum of a degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
• A master’s degree in a health-related field will be an added advantage.
Required Minimum Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
• 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role with 2 years directly in supply chain systems strengthening.
• Experience working in donor funded projects is desirable.
• Fluent English oral and written communication skills
