COMPANY PROFILE
Silver Shell Limited is a locally incorporated company holding a large scale mining license No# 27564-HQ-LML in Ndake Chiefdom of Nyimba District. As a new limestone/granite marble mining company, other than exports of raw blocks, the company intends to construct a polishing factory plant in 2021 in Nyimba District, from which the following will be the final products; floor tiles, wall tiles, roof tiles, table tops, wall skirts, kitchen tops, bar tops, pavement blocks, pan blocks, pillars, sink tops, tombstones and etc.
In view of the foregoing, the company seeks to recruit a Mine Manager with a valid silicosis certificate, who is expected to head the operations of the mine as the company sets to kick off production early January 2021.
JOB DETAILS SUMMARY
In this role, the successful candidate will be a vital member of the management team for a successfully managed mine. The main tasks will include the management, motivation and discipline of all mining department employees. At least five (5) years experience in a similar managerial position are required.

Reporting To: General Manager
Supervision: Mine Workers
Professional Interaction: Management/l External Stakeholders & Community .

JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES
• Develops mining methods to improve mining economics, effectiveness and safety, as well as minimize environmental impacts to the surrounding communities and workers
• Develops and optimize mine designs, production procedures and systems, mine production planning, scheduling using the cutting disc and diamond wire cutting machines and other related machinery
• Perform feasibility studies and cost estimates of the entire mining and production cycles • Ensures the mine operates in a manner consistent with existing department policies, programs, procedures and Zambian legislative/regulatory requirements
• Ensures that production targets are achieved in all mining pits and the company as a whole • Submits monthly returns to Ministry of Mines and Mineral Development
• In collaboration with other units, participates in safety, environmental and quality control processes and initiatives
• Facilitate problem solving and implementation of solutions, in liaison with all consulting engineers, geologists and other departments
• Coordinates and compiles data for the operating and capital budgets
• Effectively communicate mine plans and progress to allow management to make informed decisions
