JOB DETAILS:
• Blue Water Motel Limited is a hospitality firm that has been operating for over 3 decades located along Chifundo Road, Kuomboka, Lusaka, Zambia. The Motel offers affordable accommodation with 53 rooms, a restaurant, bar and secure car park with CCTV security. A steady business growth has resulted in the following job openings to meet the demands and be able to deliver exceptional service to our clients;

House-Keeping Supervisor
Duties/Responsibilities;
• Adherence to standard operating procedures for the department.
• Assign duties to room attendants and inspect already completed tasks so as to ensure compliance with already stated housekeeping standards.
• Personally carry out housekeeping duties in the case of any form of emergency/urgency, and or shortage of staff.
• Examine the rooms and public areas so as to determine areas that need repairs and/or maintenance.
• Taking stock of available inventory so as to ensure a steady supply of work materials.
• Record and keep data regarding work assignments, and also prepare reports on a routine basis.
• Establishing work standards and procedures for housekeeping staff and ensure they adhere to it.
• Make recommendations to help improve housekeeping services within the organization.
• Responsible for issuing work equipment and supplies to the housekeeping staff/workers.

Qualifications
1. Grade 12 certificate/GCE,
2. Certificate in general hospitality/hotel management. Diploma an added advantage
3. 5 year work experience in the hospitality set-up.

Sous Chef
Duties/Responsibilities;
• Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchen scales
• Develop recipe for the kitchen
• Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients
• Cook food in a timely manner
• Delegate tasks to kitchen staff
• Inform wait staff about daily specials
• Ensure appealing plate presentation
• Supervise Cooks and assist as needed
• Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests
• Monitor food stock and place orders
• Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area

Qualifications
1. Grade 12 certificate/GCE,
2. Certificate in Food Production. Diploma an added advantage
3. 5-year work experience in the hospitality set-up.

Night Security/Porter
• Night security/porter is responsible for overseeing night internal security and ensure incident free by ensuring taking measures to avert any criminal acts within the property.

Responsibilities;
• To ensure that strict security is maintained in respect of all money, keys, guest property, lost property and hotel equipment as per the Motel standards.
• To work hand in hand with private security firm to ensure enhanced security.
• To address complaints properly and deal with situations smoothly as and when they arrive.
• Ensure lost property is labelled, bagged and handed to the Night Manager for safe keeping on a daily basis
• Report all maintenance faults to the Night manager or maintenance Manager

Qualification
1. Grade 12 certificate/GCE,
2. Security Guarding experience preferred. General hospitality added advantage
3. 5-year work experience in the hospitality set-up.

Gardener
Responsibility;
• Pruning trees and shrubs
• Planting seeds and growing plants or flowers.
• Ensuring that all plants are healthy and pest free
• Using lawn mowers and hedge trimmers
• Maintaining the design of the garden
• Removing weeds
• Advising on garden appearance and design
• Maintaining and cleaning gardening machinery and equipment

Qualification;
• Grade 12 certificate/GCE
