JOB DETAILS:
Job Description
1. Configure, document network equipment, design local networks, deployment, and monitor the operationalization:
• Configure network equipment: Firewalls, Routers and Switches as well as IP telephone system
• Develop and document system standards for network devices
• Design, deploy, configure, monitor and troubleshoot local area networks using a variety of network equipment, software and protocols
• Prepare and regularly update network documentation and records including network maps, IP addresses management, authentication and security information and Layer 2 / 3 outlines and design information
2. Network capacity planning and management:
• Perform advanced monitoring and reporting issues related to network systems
• Monitor network traffic to identify problems and make capacity planning recommendations with the help of the NMS (Network Management System) and monitoring tools
3. Troubleshoot network problems analyses logs and implement changes:
• Troubleshoot the network and security infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPN and make corrective actions when necessary
• Analyze network logs regularly to track different issues and apply an adequate resolution.
• Forecast any needed improvements, and implement any changes
4. Conduct regular trainings to end users:
• Provide training and technical support for users with varying levels of IT knowledge and competence
Job Profile
A0 in Computer Science, Business Computing, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information and Communication Technology, Information Management System, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering or A1 in Computer Science, Business Computing, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information and Communication Technology, Information Management System, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering with a Certifications in A+, N+ is required; Certifications in CCNA, MCSE, MCSD, MCTs (.NET),LAMP/WAMP Framework or MCITP are an added advantage.
Key Technical Skills & Knowledge required:
• Knowledge of Rwanda’s ICT policies and strategies;
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Windows operating systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products
• Proficient in basic networking protocols and standards
• Knowledge of AD, Exchange, VPN, routers, and wireless internet access;
• Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming;

• Fluency in Kinyarwanda, English and/ or French; knowledge of all is an advantage
