Association For Life of Africa (AFLA) is a network of Pregnancy Crisis Centers and Life Affirming ministries in Africa. Its mission is to Reach and Rescue as many lives as possible in the continent of Africa, through an effective network of life-affirming pregnancy help, to Restore communities for LIFE. AFLA is Pro-Life Association registered as NGO with its headquarters in Kitwe Zambia. We provide training on how you can start and effectively run a Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC). Our goal as AFLA is to advance the Pregnancy Help and Life Affirming Movement in all African Countries and we do this by providing Affiliation to all independent and autonomous Life Affirming organizations in Africa.
Nurse Manager (Part Time)
Qualifications:
• University degree
• Has a committed and growing relationship with the Lord.
• Maintains personal devotional and prayer life, including prayer for the center.
• Expresses full agreement with corporation’s Statement of Principle, Mission Statement, Articles of Incorporation, and By-Laws and abides by AFLA’s Policies and Procedures.
• Maintains consistent life-affirming philosophy and would never refer or advise a woman to have an abortion. (When a situation arises where a woman’s life is at risk, the clinic advocates taking measures to preserve her life, hoping that the woman and the child can both be saved.)
• Seeks to honor God in the area of Biblical purity – including sexual abstinence until marriage and faithfulness within marriage.
• Respects confidentiality.
• Ability to work well interpersonally with staff, volunteers, and clients.
• Able to manage time effectively in a fast paced work environment.
• Possesses good organizational skills
Responsibilities:
The Nurse Manager provides support and care to the clients and maintains professional standards of care, following the ANA Code of Ethics. Under the general supervision of the Medical Director and Executive Director, the Nurse Manager is responsible for immediate supervision of a wide variety of clinic functions, planning and performing direct and indirect nursing interventions, and is responsible for supervising, organizing, planning, assessing and monitoring the medical services provided by Clarity Solutions for Women. The Nurse Manager also works in conjunction with physicians, nurses, and lay counselors to assure that patients are receiving the best medical, nursing, and psychosocial care possible.

Duties:
Management:
• Develops, maintains, reviews, and updates center policies and procedures.
• Maintains a working knowledge of nursing methods, principles and practices in relation to the prevention and treatment of disease, safety and infection control, clinical systems, supplies, and equipment.
• Provides nursing care: assesses client’s needs and makes nursing judgments that reflect safe nursing practices.
• Maintains accurate records.
• Provides education for patient and family to develop an understanding of their health condition.
• Oversees client follow-up per follow-up procedures and standardized procedures.
• Oversees performance of pregnancy tests and ultrasounds.
Staff Development
• Assess and interview qualified medical team volunteers to meet needs of the center.
• Oversees training and orientation of the center medical team volunteers.
• Participates in establishing and conducting in-service meetings.
• Conducts medical team meetings and discussions in evaluating the center services, policies, procedures, and protocols.
Public Relations
• Represents the center in the community as delegated by the Executive Director.
• Attends medical conferences that offer professional training and information pertinent to the center’s practices.
Personal Development
• Maintains professional license.
• Increases knowledge of management, obstetrical, and gynecological care and women’s health issues.
