Chilanga Cement, Ndola Plant, is looking to recruit a dynamic, motivated, enthusiastic and qualified individuals to take up the roles of;
Safety Officer (X1) Overall Mission of the Role: To implement and manage the health safety and environment management system (HSMS), as well as conduct safety inspections and audits, ensure the organisation complies with Chilanga Cement, local Authorities and Statutory regulations. The position will report to the Health, Safety and Environment Manager.
Main Responsibilities:
• Perform workplace audits of Chilanga Cement Health Safety Management system.
• Conduct section Health Safety Environmental inspections on a daily basis.
• Conduct site inductions for employees and contractors as well as other trainings as required for Employees.
• Assist with the provision of site emergency services including prevention, preparedness and response, and participation at training exercises including drills.
• Preparation and conducting of safety and toolbox meetings and HSE committee meetings
• Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, audits and workplace random alcohol and drugs screening.
• Monitor and review incidents and review recurrent events and assist in development and implementation of remedial actions.
• Participate in all incident investigations and identify areas for improvement, and ensure relevant alerts are sent for circulation to all Chilanga Cement employees.
• Facilitation of all Health and wellness programmes such as women and men health clinics as well as Covid 19 prevention programme implementation.
• Key in health, safety and environmental projects identification, planning and implementation.
• Facilitation and engagement of external and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience: • Degree in the field of Occupational health and Safety Management, Environment & Natural Resources Management, Environmental Health, Mechanical Engineering & or any related fields.
• 2 years’ experience.
Technical Skills • Knowledge of cement production process, & the plant equipment
• Knowledge of sampling technique
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Package
• Conversant with the local occupational health and safety and environmental legislation.
• Know the methods for health and safety performance monitoring
• Familiar with the local legislation and the norms specific to each type of equipment.
Other Skills Required For The Roles:
• Knowledge of work and safety rules and regulations.
• Sound mechanical knowledge (rigging, fitting and others).
• Good aptitude for field work, strong motivation to “dirty his own hands” and attention to cleanliness.
• Disciplined and respectable in the eyes of the peers.

MECHANICAL SUPERVISOR (x2)
Overall Mission of the Role:
To ensure that the equipment is well maintained at optimum cost as well as ensure completion and quality of the execution of maintenance jobs. This position reports to the Deputy Mechanical Manager.
Main Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the maintenance and wellbeing of the relevant equipment.
• Record some possible anomalies observed on the equipment during maintenance or inspection.
• Monitor the time requirements for each job and the optimal manpower and skills necessary for executing jobs.
• Supervise the trial of equipment after maintenance.
• Ensure that proper safety measures are being adhered to at all times by all personnel.
• Responsible for scheduled inspection of tools and tackles (including safety tools and tackles) and ensuring that these are in optimal condition of safe use.
• Monitor job duration, cost and performance of crew, and recommend improvements for cost reductions.
• Respond to emergency repair needs and ensure safe storage and disposal of replaced spares
Technical skills

Qualifications, Experience and skills required:
• At least Diploma in Mechanical engineering with 5 years hands-on experience in a process industry.
