ABOUT MARSHLANDS PLEASURE RESORT T/A COMFORT LODGE
This lodge features outdoor events like kitchen parties, weddings, birthday parties etc, a restaurant/matebeto, conference facility and a poolside bar. Free English breakfast, free WiFi in public areas, and free self-parking are also provided. Additionally, dry cleaning, and a garden are onsite. All individually decorated rooms feature private yards. For a bit of entertainment, LCD TVs come with satellite channels, and guests can also appreciate conveniences like refrigerators and electric kettles.
Comfort Lodge offers air-conditioned accommodations with complimentary toiletries. Housekeeping is provided daily. Hold your corporate functions such as conferences, workshops, etc.
Pastry Chef
JOB PURPOSE:
Oversees the restaurant’s kitchen by managing other members of the food preparation team. The pastry Chef to prepare a variety of desserts, pastries or other sweet goods. Your skill in baking high quality treats should be matched by your creativity to develop new amazing tastes and recipes. .
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes
• Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers
• Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting
• Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within budget
• Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking
• Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently
• Identify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnel
• Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards
ATTRIBUTES
• Must be able to work under minimum supervision, work independently and have good interpersonal and people management skill.
• Must be a team player
• Must be able to achieve targets under minimum supervision
QUALIFICATION
• 3-5 Years’ experience as Pastry Chef, baker or relevant role
• Diploma/Certificate in Food production
• Great attention to detail and creativity
• Organizing and leadership skills • Willingness to replenish professional
knowledge
• In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition
• Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugarless etc.)
• Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or relevant field

EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 3 years in a reputable organization in the Hospitality industry is a MUST.
• Should be very familiar with the various dishes in Hospitality industry.
• Must be very competent in organizing the restaurant.
