Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Photovoltaic System Designer/Drafter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating assembly plans and bills of materials for Photovoltaic (PV) mounting systems. Your expertise will contribute to the successful implementation of solar energy projects by designing efficient and compliant PV system installations.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand project requirements and design objectives.
• Utilise Autodesk AutoCAD or equivalent software to create accurate and detailed assembly plans for PV mounting systems.
• Ensure that the assembly plans adhere to our company’s design rules and comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Create trapezes/triangles plans, base positioning plans, smart rails plans, and other necessary drawings to support the PV system installation process.
• Develop a general module positioning plan that optimises solar panel placement for maximum energy generation.
• Generate comprehensive bills of materials, including all necessary components, fixtures, and hardware required for the PV system.
• Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and regulations related to PV system design and mounting technologies.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical), Architecture, Renewable Energy, or a related field. Relevant work experience or certifications will also be considered.
• Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD or similar drafting software (a must).
• Knowledge of PV system design principles and industry best practices.
• Experience in creating plans, technical drawings, and bills of materials.
• Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards related to PV installations.
• Excellent attention to detail, spatial skills, and ability to translate project requirements into precise designs.
