It is involved in the primary production, processing, distribution and retailing of beef, chicken, pork dairy, fish, flour, stock feed and day-old chicks throughout Zambia and the surrounding region.

The Required Skills for this Role Include:
• Managing inventory of processing plant and refrigeration critical spares and consumables.
• Overseeing the installation of new equipment as well as replacement and repair of spare parts according to supplier and company specifications and established safety guidelines.
• Monitoring the performance of repairs and maintenance conducted as well as systems in the processing and refrigeration plant division (Hydrovac, Plant Rooms (ammonia & freon), Freezer Rooms, Cold rooms, Fire sprinkler systems, Water Systems, and all related controls).
• Work with senior management on plant improvements, designs, and development of the mechanical systems.
• Overseeing all maintenance utilities.
• Ensuring all regulations regarding oils, ammonia, chlorine, and water treatments are met.
• Performing inspections and preventative maintenance as required and set standards.
• Actively managing the maintenance teams responsible for refrigeration systems, including ammonia compressors.
• Managing and maintaining budgets for processing plant and refrigeration
• Leading the maintenance team to become world-class in technical expertise, installations, repairs, and maintenance of processing plant and refrigeration equipment.
• Working with IT on development and deployment of effective cold chain monitoring systems & capability

The Required Qualifications are:
• Grade 12 certificate,
• Applicable Engineering Degree or Diploma with a completed apprenticeship.
• Post-degree managerial qualifications will be advantageous.
• Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia
• A minimum of 5 – 10 years post-qualification experience in Maintenance Management.
• Proven experience in the maintenance management of large-scale refrigeration plants (freon and ammonia)
