JOB DETAILS:
UDL is a private real estate development company leading the way in changing the landscape of Rwanda through its residential and commercial development projects. Ultimate Developers Ltd. would like to recruit a Plumber who will work under the overall supervision of the Technical Director.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Purpose: Under the supervision of the Technical Director, responsible for the day-to-day servicing at Vision City by establishing and maintaining plumbing facilities on ground. Interactions are typically with Estate Management staff to ensure the maintenance needs of the facilities are responded to in a timely fashion.

KEY COMPETENCES

• Perform routine maintenance of plumbing systems in residential and commercial buildings;
  
• Respond to plumbing calls from our general contracting team;
  
• Install plumbing systems in new construction and rehab properties;
  
• Work with our Technical Director to obtain permits for plumbing work to be performed;
  
• Adhere to current rules and regulations related to plumbing so that systems pass inspection the first time;
  
• Checks and ensures all pipes are running correctly and efficiently, reporting any issues to supervisor;
  
• Works with Maintenance contractor to verify the completion of work orders with solutions/repairs being logged correctly and timely.
  
• Assist in the preparation and implementation of a preventive maintenance program for the buildings, including photos and maintenance schedules;
  
• Respond to emergencies as necessary at the direction of the Supervisor;
  
• Performs other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.
  
  EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Two years of experience of maintenance work.

• TVET Diploma or equivalent.
  
• An ability to follow oral and written directions, keep accurate records, fill out logs and journals, and perform administrative operational functions;
  
• Must be capable of speaking and writing English, as this position will interface with owners and visitors often. Ability to prepare written reports and complete log sheets;
  
• Ability to determine next level involvement for problem resolution;
  
• Must demonstrate good judgment;
  
• Ability to think and work independently as well as part of a team;
  
• Must be able to work well under pressure and deadlines, as well as work independently and prioritize time effectively.
  • Must be a Technologist registered in the Institute of Engineers Rwanda (IER)
