Background
New Generation Academy is Christian based school with a mission to serve and impact the community through educating, nurturing, and caring for children‘s lives with holistic transformation characterized by godliness, creativity, and patriotism.
New Generation Academy vision responds to God‘s calling to consistently offer Christ-Centered education that focuses on individual uniqueness and talents to the glory of God.
New Generation Academy is recruiting the following Staff to facilitate a conducive and effective learning environment and to develop and maintain a high academic standard for children in line with the vision and mission statement.
Pre-Primary Teachers
Terms of reference Summary
• Enable a consistent and continuous school-wide focus on pupils’ achievement, using data and benchmarks to monitor progress in every child’s learning;
• Ensure that learning is at the centre of strategic planning and resource management;
• Ensure high quality personal, social, health education and citizenship in accordance with the teachings and doctrines of Christian Education;
• Ensure quality provision for pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural education in line with the distinctive Christian nature, purpose, and aims of the school.
• Establish creative, responsive and effective approaches to learning and teaching.
• Build a culture and ethos of challenge and support where all pupils can achieve success and become engaged in their own learning.
• Demonstrate and articulate high expectations and set stretching targets for New Generation Academy
• Implement strategies which secure high standards of behavior and attendance.
• Initiate and implement a diverse, flexible curriculum and implement an effective assessment framework;
• Take a strategic role in the development of new and emerging technologies to enhance and extend the learning experience of pupils;
• Monitor, evaluate and review classroom practice and promote improvement strategies;
• Challenge underperformance at the class level and ensure effective corrective action and follow-up;
• Treat children fairly, equitably and with dignity and respect to create and maintain a positive school culture consistent with the NGA vision and mission;
• Build a collaborative learning culture within the school and actively engage with other teachers to build effective learning communities;
• Ensure effective planning and evaluation of learning is done regularly;
• Acknowledge the responsibilities and celebrate the achievements of each and every Pupil;
• Develop and maintain a culture of high expectations for self and for pupils and take appropriate action when performance is unsatisfactory;
• Regularly review own practice, set personal targets and take responsibility for own personal development;
• Manage own workload.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field;
• Early childhood development Certificate;
• Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills;
• Maintains an attitude of open, curious and proactive learning, continually expanding own area of understanding and expertise;
• Demonstrates godliness, humility, mature confidence and courage to innovate, and lead in own role;
• Understands ethical behavior and business practices and ensures that own behavior is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of New Generation academy;
• Ability to use Microsoft Software (word, excel, Power point) and general computer skills are required;
• Fluent in Kinyarwanda in addition fluent in either English or French. Working knowledge of the other language would be helpful;
• Recommendation from Church.
