Position Mandate
As a subcontractor to the Education Development Center, Inc. (EDC) in support of the USAID Zambia Let's Read Activity, SSG Advisors d/b/a Resonance is leading the identification and facilitation of public-private partnerships (PPPs) to address Let’s Read’s objectives. Let’s Read is a 5-year program, currently entering its fourth year of implementation, which seeks to improve reading outcomes for approximately 1.4 million children attending pre-primary through Grades 3 in Zambian public and community schools.

As we enter Year 4 of the project, Resonance’s work is focused on driving a number of conceptualized and brokered partnerships towards formalization through leverage contribution letters, and implementation. Year 5 will namely be focused on transitioning partnerships to the Ministry of General Education (MoGE), who will continue to implement and manage them.
Resonance is seeking a full-time Private Sector Engagement (PSE) Coordinator to begin immediately to support our work and objectives in the final two years of the project.

The PSE Coordinator will support Resonance’s Lusaka-based PSE Specialist in collaborating, coordinating, and communicating with private sector stakeholders in Zambia to drive the implementation of PPPs and leverage reporting. In this role the PSE Coordinator will work closely with the Let’s Read Team, specifically key project technical leads, and Resonance’s home office Project Delivery Unit (PDU). The PSE Coordinator will play a key role in managing the day-to-day administration, coordination, and communication efforts necessary to drive implementation of partnership activities and maintain partner relations in order to advance the objectives of the Let’s Read project surrounding learner literacy in Zambia.

This is a full-time position based in Lusaka, Zambia. The PSE Coordinator will report to the Senior Manager within the Resonance PDU and will receive technical tasks and guidance on a day-to-day from Resonance’s local PSE Specialist.

Outcomes / Essential Functions
• Support day-to-day relationship-building with private sector partners including sending coordination emails and meeting invitations, conducting follow-up calls, and drafting material for the PPP quarterly newsletter;
• Support the drafting of concept notes, meeting agendas, action plans, leverage letters and other partnership management documents;
• Work with partners and the PSE Specialist to drive implementation of partnership activities, according to partnership action plans and concepts;
• Support the administration and logistics of PSE trainings, workshops and multi-stakeholder convenings, as appropriate;
• Support development of project management deliverables (USAID reports, M&E inputs, success stories, etc.), as well as monitor and record the M&E metrics attributed to PSE activities (e.g. partnership leverage) on an ongoing basis.

Required Education & Experience
• A bachelor’s degree in economics, business management, communications and/or a relevant field;
• 3 years of relevant experience in private sector engagement and/or project coordination and communications in Zambia;
• Familiarity and comfort using Microsoft Office; Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams;
• Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
Preferred Education & Experience
• Strong written and oral communication skills;
• Experience working independently and on international and multicultural teams;
• Experience implementing project activities and tasks against a work plan;
• Experience engaging private sector on corporate social responsibility or social development issues is a plus.

Travel Expectations
The employee must be able to travel domestically and up to 10% for work assignments.

This position operates in a professional office environment, and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

The employee must be able to make substantial repetitive motions of the wrists, hands and fingers. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 15lbs at times.
