JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
• The Program Coordinator will lead and coordinate the day-to-day implementation of the ‘Improving Socio-Economic Status for Women, Youth and Marginalized Groups’ project under Ireland’s Civil Society Partnership (ICSP) for A Better World 2023-2027 programme. The job holder will be responsible for overall partner management, coordination, monitoring and capacity building, reporting and budget management. The project will be implemented by Oxfam and partners and will reach 15,600 people directly from vulnerable households including female, child and elderly headed households in Mongu, Kaoma, Namwala, Gwembe districts. These areas have been selected because of the various vulnerabilities that the people, especially women, youth and persons with disabilities, in these districts face which include, high poverty levels, low education levels, negative cultural and social norms, poor agricultural practices, limited economic activity and well as the hard effects of climate change which has caused the late onset of rains, floods, as well as persistent dry spells in the rainy season.

The person
We are looking for an individual who is dynamic, charismatic and credible leader with the following:
Knowledge, Experience & Skills
• Academic degree in a relevant area for this position.
• Fluent in English (verbal and written).
• 5+ years of experience in development work, preferably on gender and agricultural livelihoods programming
• Excellent financial management skills, with experience of project budgeting and controlling financial risks.
• Proven record of involvement in design and/or implementation of approaches, tools and methodologies that foster inclusive development at national and sub-national levels.
• Good understanding of Zambia’s public policy processes in program focus
• Knowledge of and possible experience with approaches involving innovative programming as well as nexus programming.
• Strong program management and quality knowledge, with ability to ensure consistent quality against standards and to implement effective monitoring and evaluation systems to assess and adjust performance.
• Proven experience with proposal development and with donor funding environment.
• Excellent personal communication skills.
• A high level of self-awareness, initiative, sound judgement, personal energy and flexibility
• Clear support and respect to gender equality and equity.
• Ability to build a people’s movement around the program theme and inspire followership.
• Able to handle stress, leading by example and, thus, produce results, meet deadlines and make others to meet their deadlines.
• Strategic and people management skills, supporting and mentoring the team in their professional and personal growth within an intercultural setting.
• Experienced in proposal and report writing.

In addition, an ideal candidate will also have:
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and manage good relationships both internally and externally.
• Ability to work independently and think innovatively and strategically, as well as collaborate within a team, including with colleagues based remotely.
• Ability to work on own initiative, manage complex workloads and deliver outputs to agreed deadlines.
