JOB DETAILS:
Role Purpose
The role of Programme Manager Education (PME) is designed to support the implementation of the EDGE programme. The PME will assist the Country Manager (CM) and Lead Consultant (LC) in carrying out tasks that includ managing contract implementation, managing client and internal stakeholder interests, supporting timely reporting and meeting compliance requirements. The Programme Manager Education will also support and coordinate Monitoring and Evaluation, Knowledge Management and dissemination of EDGE programme’s achievements.

Main accountabilities but not limited to the following:
• Contributes to development of Project Management Plan;
• Identifies risks in a project or programme and puts together mitigation strategies
• Supports internal and client, procurement, contracting, compliance and reporting.
• Build strong internal and external relationships and networks
• Lead on British Council, partner or client reporting (including, with Finance Manager, financial reporting) and ensure reports are delivered on time, to budget and to a high standard;
• Has relationships with delivery partners and stakeholders within country and is able to lead the procurement of services and coordinate contract delivery of partners;
• Lead EDGE Communication Strategy development and implementation;
• Manage record keeping for the EDGE Programme provide summary reports and stories that feed into the quarterly impact reports, newsletters and other knowledge management products;
• Undertake procurement of programme-specific data collection as needed. This includes working with colleagues to developing scopes of work to determine information needed and tools for data collection, quality assuring all data, and undertaking basic analysis;
• Responsible for data management including timely data entry, quality assurance of data, undertaking basic analysis of monitoring data, and developing progress reports to meet funding needs;
• Coordinate internal dissemination of EDGE work; and
• Document lessons learned to improve the quality of activities and their outcomes for the implementation phase of the programme;
• Coordinate EDGE Logframe and Theory of Change reviews in collaboration with the client; and
• Ensure professionalism is demonstrated in own work area and that customer/ needs and perspectives are reflected in own behaviours and focus;
• Support the embedding of continuous learning and improvement into the team;
• Providing constant opportunities to change working practices to improve results; and participating in field visits.

Role specific knowledge and experience:
• Experience of managing projects from start to finish and familiarity with project life-cycles.
• Understanding of procurement, evaluation and reporting requirements of projects.
• Proven experience of managing project finances.
• Experience of managing stakeholders
• Project management qualification desirable.
• Experience of working in project or programme management.
• Experience of using technology in project delivery.
• Good understanding and experience of supporting monitoring and evaluation.

Minimum requirements:
• University Degree in project management, business or social studies or its equivalent
• Significant experience including at least one year in a managerial role (project management)

Desirable:
• Relevant Project management certification

• Remuneration: ZMW 29,137.00 per month plus benefits
