JOB DETAILS:
• Radio Mano Community Station is a Media institution based in Kasama, Northern Province which is Registered under the registrar of Societies on Registration Number ORS/102/14/117.It is a Community Radio Station which is fully supported by the Community thereby making it a Non-Profit making organization.
• The station seeks to employ a qualified Programmes Officer to spearhead the Programmes Department.
• This is a four-year contract with a possibility of extension depending on the performance.
• Overall Purpose of the Job
• The Programmes Officer will be responsible for the Programs functions of Radio Mano.

Responsibilities
ü Managing the broadcast schedule, including deciding when and how often specific shows or segments will air.
ü Overseeing the technical aspects of broadcasting, including equipment and troubleshooting.
ü Keeping up with current events and trends to incorporate relevant content into programs.
ü Monitoring radio to make sure that all programmes and adverts be it sponsored or not are aired and on time.

Qualifications:
• Must possess a full Grade Twelve Certificate.
• Diploma in Broadcasting, Journalism and Radio Production. Degree in Journalism will be an added advantage.
• Paid up member of Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA).
• Computer Literate, proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• At least three years of Journalism and radio production and administrative experience.
• Team player with excellent communication skills.

Skills & Competences
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Good understanding of standard operating procedures for broadcasting.
• Skills in audio editing, recording, and mixing is often necessary.
• Team player with excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to come up with innovative program ideas and formats to attract and retain listeners.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and under pressure.
