JOB DETAILS:
Position Overview
Reporting to the Executive Coordinator, the Programs Assistant is responsible for planning, executing and evaluating projects according to predetermined workplan, timelines and budgets. Building and ensuring quality control throughout project life cycles are central to this position. This is a part time position for a period of 6 months.

Responsibilities
• Support the Executive Coordinator in managing project development from initiation to closure, drafting project proposals and leading project planning, budgeting, preliminary scheduling and monitoring processes of specific projects in the TAG’s workplan.
• Support the Executive Coordinator in all project activities and ensure compliance with the policies and regulations of project Sponsors.
• Identify, understand and manage all project risks, liabilities, obligations and rights.
• Execution, monitoring, follow-up and on and submission of project activity reports on regular basis.
• Manage changes to project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
• Use project scheduling and control tools to monitor project plans, work hours, budgets and expenditures.
• Employ resourcefulness in project design, implementation and monitoring.
• Troubleshoot project problems, and identify and implement creative solutions.

Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
• Problem-solving skills; detail-oriented with excellent documentation ability.
• Demonstrated ability to write project/grant proposals.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and monitor budgets.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum supervision while ensuring quality management, time management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

Experience
• At least 3 years work experience in a project management/coordination function.
• Demonstrated experience and solid expertise in proposal writing, project planning, management and reporting.
• General knowledge of insurance will be an added advantage.

Level of Education:
Bachelor Degree
