IHL through the support of its partners are embarking on a Financial Literacy 3-year program targeting youths in TEVET Institutions called Financial Education for Economic Transformation (FEET)- Out of School TEVET Youths. This program therefore seeks to conduct financial education among youths in Zambia through provision of literacy and ease access. It aims at imparting knowledge to enable financial planning, inculcate saving habits and improve the understanding of financial products leading to effective use of financial services by the common youth.

Job Title: Project Manager
Reports to: Executive Director
Subordinates: Programme Assistant, Project Accountant
Purpose of the Job
To provide technical expertise, market access improvements and linkage processes and collaboration with wide range of market actors including government, regulators, financial service providers and other technical and financial specialists in the development and rollout of financial education for youths.
(i) The Project Manager will build and maintain FEETs youth project to offer financial literacy services to youths;
(ii) The Project Manager will create and adapt financial literacy curriculum to be used in instruction on financial topics with a variety of audiences, build a base of clients/partners in need of financial literacy services, and maintain relationships with relevant partners to enhance and sustain the FEET youth project;
Duties and Responsibilities
• Select, create, revise, and adapt educational material to meet youths’ varying needs, abilities, and interests.
• Continually researching and gathering information on financial literacy, best practices to inform financial education methods;
• Prepare for scheduled training sessions including determining and adapting to the best practice for specific youth groups;
• Develop evaluation metrics of FEET Project to inform improvements and provide reports to management upon request.;
• Build and maintain relationships with project partners to effectively meet the needs of the youth.
• Manages and promotes effectively financial literacy and creates financial service awareness among the youth;
• Manages and promotes effectively an entrepreneurial and saving culture among youths;
• Coordinates effectively capacity building of financial education training of trainers in the TEVET sector;
• Manages effectively the design and implementation of financial education programmes;
• Manages effectively the development and review of financial policies in order to provide standard guidelines and procedures;
• Coordinates effectively post Financial Education and Economic Transformation (FEET) youth project to business opportunities;
• Engages various partners for technical input in financial education and empowerment;
• Coordinates effectively provision of financial education in order to improve youth understanding of financial products and concepts;
• Manages effectively the utilisation of financial and other resources in order to meet the objectives of the project;
• Manages efficiently monitoring and evaluation of project implementation in order to track performance and facilitate implementation of appropriate intervention;
Qualifications and Experience
• Grade 12 School Certificate with 5 “O” levels, credits or better including English and Mathematics;
• Minimum degree in Business Administration, Economics, Commerce;
• Master’s degree in any related filed will be an added advantage;
• Member of a relevant professional body; and
• Not less than ten (10) years relevant experience at managerial level five (5) of which should be in Project Management;
• Teaching, education, or training background will be an added advantage
• Experience in Financial educator and/or financial coaching/Entrepreneurship preferred
• Previous financial services experience or knowledge preferred
