Introduction
The Catholic Medical Mission Board Zambia (CMMB-Z) is a faith-based local organisation whose mission is to provide long-term, co-operative medical and development aid to communities affected by poverty and healthcare issues. CMMB is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals with relevant experience for the following position on the Kusamala Project aimed at contributing to CMMB’s strategic vision in the Child Protection Department.
About the Project
CMMB-Z has since 2014, partnered with Zambia’s Ministry of Community Development and Social Services (MCDSS) and Ministry of Health (MOH) with funding from GHR Foundation, to implement the Kusamala I and II projects to contribute to the creation of an integrated family-based childcare system via transformative interventions at multiple levels to protect and nurture children within communities and families. CMMB Zambia has received funding to implement Kusamala III, to continue to strengthen families and respond to children without family care families through keeping children in families ongoing effort (CIF Ongoing) and collective effort CIF+ (a collaborative effort with (Alliance for Children Everywhere-Zambia (ACE-Z), Catholic Relief Services (CRS), Save the Children International (SCI), UNICEF and Zambia Association of Sisterhoods (ZAS); and children with disabilities and those with feeding difficulties in Kanyama, Chawama, Misisi, Mtendere, Ng’ombe, Matero communities in Lusaka, Makululu community in Kabwe, Kafue and Mfuwe.
Job Title: Project Officer – Children in Families (CIF)
Location: Lusaka
Reporting to: Child Protection Advisor
Job Overview
The Project Officer CIF will work in close collaboration with the M&E Officer and Community Mobilisation Assistant in compiling weekly and monthly reports and analysis, data verification and data entry related to CIF to perform all necessary functions and obligations as defined and delegated by the supervising officers. S/he will support CIF activities that aim to strengthen monitoring and evaluation and performance, including overseeing support to subgrantee to monitor, document and analyse the performance of their CIF services and activities and ensure data quality. S/he will liaise with relevant technical advisers and partners responsible for district, facility and community level CIF activities and support coordination with DSWO.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
• Work with DSWO and other implementing partners with guidance from Child Protection Advisor
• Support planning, implementation, and coordination of all CIF activities
• Support procurement planning and implementation
• Conduct monitoring visits to CIF sites to monitor project progress
• Document and share CIF programming innovations and best practices internally and externally
• Support budget tracking to monitor project spending, remaining funds, and upcoming costs
• Provide regular and timely reports as required
• Host/arrange donor/Partner visits for shared learning.
Qualifications and Experience
• Degree in Social work, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field is required.
• At least 3 years work experience in communities with disadvantaged individuals in healthcare or in social services.
• Knowledge and experience in care reform, reintegration; keeping children in families and case management will be an added advantage.
