The High Commission of the Republic of Botswana in Lusaka invites applications for the position of Receptionist to be deployed at the Chancery.
NOTICE NO. 2 OF 2021
Receptionist

Qualifications and Experience
• Applicant must possess a minimum of Basic Certificate in Reception Operation Service or
• Certificate/Diploma in Secretarial or Administration studies
• Basic Computer Literacy,
• Minimum 5 years' experience of continuous service in a comparable employment;
• Should be able to read and write English,
• Knowledge of Setswana will be an added advantage.

Main Purpose of the Job/Duties
The job expectations for eligible candidates are as follows:
• Receives and directs visitors/customers to the appropriate Office:
• Answers enquiries from visitors or customers in consultation with the appropriate diplomatic official where necessary,
• Operates the Switchboard by courteously handling both incoming and outgoing telephone calls
• Prints and issues/distributes monthly telephone bills to Officers
• Provides general information on Botswana to customers/clients and distributes brochures and other promotional material as may be necessary, in liaison with the Supervisor;
• Assists, under the guidance of the appropriate Officer as may be necessary
• Receives incoming mail and delivers it to the Administrative Assistant:
• Performs typing duties for Mission Staff below the Head of Mission on non-classified correspondence as and when required
• Reminds Officers of confirmed appointments
• Assists in providing refreshments to customers/clients in the absence of the Office Cleaner
• Ensures that all visitors practise COVID-19 protocols as dictated by the host Government and adopted by the Mission, including wearing a mask, sanitizing upon entry into the Chancery and social distancing;
• Perform any other duty as may be required by the exigency of service.

Salary – ZMW44, 458.92 - ZMW59, 414.52 per annum
