JOB DETAILS:
Purpose of the role:
• To provide Expert Advice on Electrical component’s Production Process, Failures and Repairs in line with Hitachi standards. To guide the Electrical Team on the Installation, Repairs and Maintenance of Reman Components in the Electrical Facility based on Company standards and Safety requirements. Demonstrate above average know-how in areas of Electrical Insulation, Rewinding, Varnishing and VPI processes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Reman Electrical Advisor will be required to perform the following tasks:
• Ensure Safety standards are adhered to;
• Remanufacture and / or Rehabilitate components to Reman standards. Carry out Preventive Maintenance and Corrective Repairs in line with the Hitachi specifications;
• Responsible for Electrical component’s failure investigation, mandatory modifications, and upgrades;
• Evaluate electrical systems, products, components and application by designing and conducting programs applying knowledge of electricity and materials;
• Provides Electrical Technical Trainings, Manuals, and Component Failure Analysis and Modification Reports;
• Work Closely with QC & Planning Departments to assist with Core returns and Assessments;
• Process & Plan all Electrical jobs with Line Supervision;
• Conduct Trend Analysis on all Warranty claims to identify possible trends in breakdowns;
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis;
• Ensures electrical component’s production quality according to company policy and standards;
• Ensure Electrical Department’s Continuous Improvements initiatives;
• Be able to liaise with Customers to enhance the business relationship
• Ensure all completed components are tested and verified for correct operations (QC);
• Have above average knowledge of Rewinding processes;
• Have above average knowledge on Electrical Insulation, Varnishing & VPI processes;
• Conducting effective FMEA’s with countermeasures;
• Dump Trucks troubleshooting and commissioning experience of components at site;
• Rope Shovels DC motors experience on assessments, testing, repairs and commissioning on Drilling Machines:
• Have good knowledge of Supplier Networks on the Mining Procurement & Supply Chain Management;
• Workshop Equipment Machinery knowledge and provision of Digital Solutions to ensure minimized machinery downtime;
• Workshop Asset Performance Management systems experience using Online Condition Monitoring interventions;
• Knowledge on Electrical Network Systems Simulations Softwares i.e Rhetic Master, DigSilent
• Knowledge on Productivity Planning Optimization and Total Quality Management Systems (TQM) integration;
• Hybrid and Off-Grid Solar Systems design and sizing / Battery / UPS systems and use of Simulations Systems i.e Helios software for modelling purposes.

Qualifications & Experience
• Grade 12 Certificate
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Experience on Motor/ Alternator >1500kw rated.
• Solid experience on MV/HV
• Proven experience in motor & alternator re-winding and re-barring, Tan Delta, Polarization Index, Surge testing
• Experience on Vacuum Pressure Impregnation work
• Minimum of 6 years in Heavy Equipment Industry or Remanufacture Operations.
• Membership to relevant Professional Body
