Resource Mobilisation Consultant
The MATParks Development Initiative’s overarching goal is “to contribute to improved food security by enhancing productivity as a result of improved access to markets for smallholder farmers” with a specific objective “to transform Zambia’s Agricultural and Commercial shows into must-see events and the showgrounds into fully secured Mini Agribusiness and Trade Parks (MATParks) with modern facilities including permanent traders’ and agro dealers’ exhibition booths from which services and products will be on offer to smallholder farmers and the general public all-year round”. To achieve the objective, the Initiative will build the capacities of district show cooperatives to organise and manage the improved shows; and to effectively utilize the showgrounds for enhanced domestic trade and smallholder farmer capacity building activities. .

THE ASSIGNMENT
• The Initiative collaborators are looking to engage a passionate and committed professional or company as a Resource Mobilization Consultant to raise additional resources and long-term partners for the initiative. The prospective candidate for this position should be
• A committed resource mobilisation professional, or company, willing to use their existing networks, knowledge and expertise to mobilise resources for the Initiative.
• An experienced hands-­on professional or company with the ability to translate the MATParks Development Initiative concept into proposals to potential funders and partners.
• Pro-­active and have a proven track record in raising funds and creating partnership linkages.
• Able to develop and execute fundraising strategy and action plan for the development stages of the initiative.
• Able to identify and approach prospective funders and partners and to initiate relationships with key decision makers on behalf of the Initiative.
• Able to independently write and present proposals to prospective funders and long term partners.
• Able to organise donor pledging and partner creation events/meetings.
• Willing to commit to raise a specified amount of resources and number of partners within an agreed timeframe.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
• Education: Masters Degree in Business, Agribusiness, Development or Public Finance, Economics or in another relevant discipline. Resource Mobilisation training will be an added advantage.
• Work Experience: Minimum ten years professional relevant work experience in resource mobilization related to private or social sectors for agriculture, business development, event management or other related fields. For companies track record in resource mobilisation with staff of similar qualifications. Proof of existing networks is required.
