Review of the environmental and social impact assessment for the proposed textile plant in Kabwe District by Kabwe Textiles Limited a subsidiary of the industrial development corporation

Kabwe Textiles Limited (KTL) is a subsidiary of the Industrial Development Cooperation (IDC), intends to establish and operate a textiles factory in Kabwe District. The project site les approximately south of Kate Central

District in the area designated for industrial development. The project site les aporimately 1.5km from the T2 (Kabwe-Lusaka) Road at Forestcol Fertilizers Zambia Limited turnoff

The proposed project will involve the manufacturing of garments using organic cotton, Kabwe Textiles Limited will enter into an agreement with the Cotton Association of Zambia for the w ay of material to the company for the production proces. Once the material is delivered, will be deeded and cleaned through the ginning process, then cardod bresaligned), spun, and woven into fabric that is referred to as cotton The Katre Textiles Project is erwisaged to procesin e of 10,000 metric tonnes of raw cotton annually
