Project title: EU Support to the National Land Audit in Zambia
The EU support to the National Land Audit project aims to improve land administration and management in Zambia. The project focuses on (1) improving the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI), updating it with information that is publicly available and accessible, and, producing land cover, land use maps, and compiling other thematic maps at the National level, (2) making available and accessible key results of the National Land Audit, (3) testing and validate Innovative National Land Audit methodologies, and (4) providing guidance for shaping a full National Land Audit implementation and forming a post audit action plan.

Title of assignment: Implementation of the NSDI Data Catalog, Map Viewer and Map Server
Objectives:
The NKE will support the implementation of the new NSDI platform (NSDI v2), which will be fully based on open-source platforms and tools. The NKE will be responsible for the implementation of the NSDI components such as the Data Catalog, Map Viewer and Map Server in accordance with the NSDI Stakeholder Requirements Specification.
SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES
Under Activity A.1.1.3: Upgrading the NSDI platform – Development of NSDI version 2
• Select and configure appropriate systems
• Populate the catalog with existing spatial datasets
• Establish the data exchange and publication process
• Test the NSDI platform
• Publish the NSDI platform
• Provide trainings
• Prepare documentation
• Deliver the presentation
• Provide support
Requirements:
Qualifications and skills
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technologies, Computer Science or similar;
• At least 5 years of proven experience in developing web applications;
• Understanding and knowledge of GIS and managing spatial data.
• Experience with Web and desktop GIS;
• At least 3 years of proven experience with GeoServer;
• Proven experience of using GeoNode and/or GetNetwork;
• Programming skills in in one of the following languages – PHP, Java, Python;
• Knowledge and experience with front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript);
• Knowledge and experience working with JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, Angular);
• Knowledge and experience with designing and using databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, H2);
• Basic system administration skills to install and configure a web-server and DBMS;
• Fluency in English (written and spoken);
• Good organizational, coordination and reporting skills.
