KCM SmelterCo Limited a subsidiary of Konkola Copper Mines Plc (KCM Plc) is one of the largest copper and cobalt processing companies in Zambia. It operates an underground mine in Nampundwe, a refinery in Kitwe, and a crushing & milling plant, a tailings leach plant and a state of the art smelter in Chingola. To support this vision KCM SmelterCo Limited would like to recruit experienced and qualified individuals for the above position at Nkana Refinery and Nampundwe Mine.

Job Purpose:
Ensure constant safety compliance in order to attain a safe working environment and prevent accident occurrences.

Main Roles & Responsibilities will include:
• Carrying out workplace inspections with regard to safe working and practices
• Investigate all accidents and incidents as required and ensure prompt feedback
• Conduct random alcohol screening and spot checks on PPE compliance and equipment condition
• Enforcement of regulation and procedures breaches
• Conduct risk assessments, track and document all non-conformances from inspections, VFL and audits
• Facilitate safety trainings and reviews with line -managers
• Advise on relevant safety regulations, monitor SHE activities and updates

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
• Grade 12 School Certificate
• Diploma in Occupation Safety, Health & Environment or any related program
• Minimum of 2 years industrial experience
• Excellent computer skills
• Sound communication skills and good team player

Experience in Months: 24

Level of Education: Associate Degree
