JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
The Sales Agronomist will be responsible for all daily agronomy sales including effectively supporting the agronomy manager; sales of fertilizer, chemicals and seed; inventory; coordinating application of chemicals and fertilizer; consulting with producers and making recommendations; and maintaining test plots Establishes and maintains excellent rapport with customers. Work directly with farmer customers in an assigned area, developing a trusted and consultative selling relationship
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
• Market and Sale Agriculture Inputs (fertilzers/Feed/ /Raw materials for feed/Agrochemical/ Implements) to Agro dealers and Commercial farmers and stock feed plant country wide.
• Serves customers by promptly responding to customer inquiries, questions, and/or complaints in a prompt, respectful, and professional manner Responsible for being knowledgeable of all products and services and exhibits ability to demonstrate to customers their uses
• Responsible for keeping up to date on technology and safety regulations Manages agronomy production and quality control standards; and obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered
• Enforces the agronomy operations plan to ensure efficiency and profitability Ensures all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met
• Achieve established metrics to develop a solid foundation for long-term profitable growth.
• Utilize customer relationship management tool to achieve best in –industry customer service.
• Spend 80% of time calling on growers and 20% of time doing planning.
• Initiate sales contacts, understand customer needs and present applicable products and services.
• Develop and deliver effective sales presentations, focusing on the benefit of early orders.
• Increase customer base year over year.
• Grow volume of sales with existing customers.
• Provide outstanding customer service to growers
• Maintain excellence in the upkeep and maintenance of facility/location to build brand.
• Coordinate the treatment and delivery of products in-season.
• Meet monthly Sales target though creative customer relation approach and innovation.
• Make Business plan and dealer network management.
• Plan, coordinate and conduct farmer field days. (Training)
• Recruit and manage a sales team

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
• Degree/Diploma in Agronomy / Crop Production or equivalent experience
• Must have a minimum 4-6 years sales experience with Agro-products Company
• Must have proven experience as a Sales Agronomist
• Must be well vested with the Zambian and Southern Africa Geography, agricultural practices, and patterns.
• Self-starter and ready to work with a sense of ownership.
• Proven ability to delivery exceptional customer service
• Ability to work under pressure and for long hours
• Proven experience of achieving Sales Target with minimum Supervision.
• Must have experience in Techno commercial activities with farmers.
• Proficient use of computer programs including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Must be willing to travel frequently and at short notice
