JOB DETAILS:
Legal Aid Board (LAB) is a statutory body established under the Legal Aid Act chapter 34 of the Laws of Zambia. The Board is mandated to provide legal aid services to persons with inadequate means. The Board now seeks to appoint dynamic and pro-active persons to be based in various towns and invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the positions of:
Senior Human Resource Officer (Lusaka)
Job Purpose:
To assist the coordinating of human resources management function in order to facilitate efficient and effective operations of the Board
Responsibilities and Key Result Areas
• Assist to manage the HR team effectively to a level that they are: clear about expected standards of performance, motivated and developed to provide professional HR services
• Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
• Interpret Human Resource Policies, Procedure, Guidelines and Conditions of Service for adherence by supervisors and staff,
• Continually review and monitor progress against the HR action plan, manage HR projects and initiatives so that implementation is achieved on time and within budget,
• Manage and monitor the effectiveness of service level agreements between HR and external/intemal clients for HR Services
• Ensure management of up-to-date human resources data base based on the approved establishment by departments and units
• Provide advice and recommendations on disciplinary actions. Provide basic counseling were possible to staff who have performance related obstacles,
• Provide support to new employees by carrying out induction/orientation (onboarding) programs
• Provide guidance in identifying training needs and developmental opportunities, process employee requests for training while complying with policies and procedures. Assist in implementing a robust training and development plan,
• Undertake any other duties as requested by the supervisor which are Human Resource Management related
Qualification and Experience
• Grade 12 School Certificate
• Minimum of a Bachelors in Human Resource Management, Social Science or Equivalent from a recognized University
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a Human Resource Generalist at a Middle management level
• Experience in performance management systems
• Member of Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management with a valid practicing Certificate
• Ability to demonstrate professional competence in meeting commitments
