The University of Lusaka is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to the position of Senior Human Resource Officer (1)
1. Senior Human Resource Officer (1)
Purpose

The Senior Human Resource Officer (SHRO) is responsible for providing overal direction and support to the various Human Resource functions of the University of Lusaka (UNILUS). This will include rolling out UNILUS’s HR Policies and Procedures in various aspects of human resource management and oversee the Human Resource Department. The SHRO will work closely with other Senior Management Teams to ensure compliance with UNILUS administrative standards and with local laws and regulations

Summary of Job Responsibilities
• Oversee review and approval of faculty and staff recruitment process and counseling managers on candidate selection
• Provide management with monthly Human Resource reports.
• Advice management on developing organizational structures that enhance effectiveness and reduce administrative costs.
• Partnering with the faculties and heads of departments on organization design and development
• Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees scheduling management conferences with employees, hearing and resolving employee grievances, counseling employees and supervisors
• Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures
• Oversee and manage employee separations within the University and coordinate applicable employee exit (off boarding) activities

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management
• A Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management is an added advantage.
• Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience.
• Member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management

• Ability to research and create new knowledge
• Should be a goal getter. . Must be a team player.
• Must be able to work with minimum supervision
• Must be articulate and have strong interpersonal skills
• High level of planning and organizing skills.
• Critical thinker.
• Good computer skills
Salary Package:
An attractive and competitive package will be offered commensurate with one’s qualification and experience

Bachelor Degree
