The successful candidate for this position will join the PMI VectorLink Project’s Zambia team as the Insecticide Treated Net (ITN) Senior Technical Advisor.
Working across 23 countries in sub-Saharan Africa as well as Cambodia, the PMI VectorLink Project is equipping countries to plan and implement safe, cost-effective and sustainable life-saving malaria vector control interventions with the overall goal of reducing the burden of malaria. Specifically, the PMI VectorLink Project is building the capacity of country governments to use epidemiological, entomological, and coverage data to support the optimal deployment of vector control tools within each country context while promoting gender equity in all facets of planning and implementation.
The ITN Senior Technical Advisor will be embedded in the Zambia National Malaria Elimination Center (NMEC). He/she will be responsible for leading stakeholder coordination and supporting the NMCP with the planning, logistics, monitoring, and evaluation of ITN distribution campaigns. .
Job Responsibilities:
• As a seconded staff to the NMEC this position will, serve as an integral team member in the NMEC ITN team. Provide daily technical assistance to the NMEC to develop detailed plans for ITN mass campaign logistics, M&E, data management, communications, quantification, and household registration.
• Facilitate engagement with ITN coordination committees, e.g. logistics and procurement, M&E, advocacy, social behavior change communication, etc. Provide technical leadership and build consensus among key stakeholders vis-à-vis the management and coordination of the national ITN mass campaign in Zambia.
• Effectively support the NMEC to lead planning and execution of all elements of the national ITN mass campaign, in tandem with the NMEC ITN team and NMEC leadership and in close consultation with VectorLink Chief of Party and PMI.
• Liaise with malaria and national ITN mass campaign stakeholders in Zambia to fulfill shared objectives.
• Closely collaborate with the PMI VectorLink Chief of Party to ensure the PMI VectorLink ITN team’s activities contribute to the achievement of PMI/Zambia’s desired integrated vector control outcomes. Serve as an ITN technical resource for the PMI VectorLink Project in Zambia
• Together with the PMI VectorLink Chief of Party and ITN Mass Campaign Coordinator, co-lead the PMI VectorLink ITN team’s execution of the ITN workplan, including planning and execution of the ITN mass campaign in three provinces.
• Represent the PMI VectorLink ITN team and PMI VectorLink Project externally with stakeholders.
• Engage with other PMI-funded projects to identify and act on opportunities for collaboration.

Job Education Requirements:
• You hold a relevant graduate degree (MPH, MBA, MSc, etc.) in public health, logistics management, marketing, or business. Alternatively, you have a bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of additional relevant experience.
Job Experience Requirements:
• You have at least 7-9 years of relevant experience working with malaria control and elimination programs in Zambia, preferably ITN-related programs.
• As a demonstrated leader in the field of malaria control in Zambia, you have an established reputation. You have proven experience designing or managing ITN campaigns.
• However, despite your experience, you are an information sponge and understand what worked yesterday may not necessarily work today (or tomorrow), that each context is different.
