JOB DETAILS:
In line with our corporate priorities aimed at ensuring optimization of revenue collection and increased tax compliance on one hand and the need to effectively manage the numerous challenges and opportunities in the fast-changing business environment on the other, we are seeking highly motivated, result-oriented and well-qualified and experienced professionals to fill the following vacancies:
Senior Maintenance Officer – Cargo Scanners – Zra05 (1)
Reporting directly to the ICT Manager – Customs Systems Support, you will lead a team of Maintenance Officers providing first line support and maintenance, where prescribed, of Cargo Scanners in ZRA ensuring that they are available to meet Customs Services business needs.

Main Duties/Accountabilities
• Planning and budgeting for annual maintenance and repair activities
• Preparing scanner maintenance schedules and supervising monthly, quarterly and annual maintenance works
• Supervising the Maintenance Officers-Cargo Scanners in perfuming their duties
• Providing monthly reports for scanner operations activities to the ICT Manager – Systems
Support
• Providing advice on improvement of cargo scanner systems and on the interface with any department within ZRA that needs information on scanned vehicles
• Coordinating training end users in scanner image analysis
• Ensuring that all scanners have valid RPA licenses
• Ensuring that staff under scanner operations submit their radiation dosimeters on time for radiation analysis

Requirements
• Grade Twelve School Certificate or General Certificate of Education (GCE) Equivalent
• Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical related engineering
• Professional training in X-ray scanners
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience on x-ray scanners preferably NUCTECH or Smith
Detection X-Ray Systems
• Certified as a Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) by the Radiation Protection Authority (undergone Radiation Training)
• Valid Membership to Engineering Institute of Zambia.
