Job Description
Lumwana Mining Company is seeking to recruit a highly committed employee for the position of Senior Shift Supervisor under the versatile Process Plant Team.
Reporting to the Coordinator – Process, the Senior Shift Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the processing plant through the effective utilisation of all resources provided.

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
• Supervise the daily operations of all sections of the processing plant and equipment in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
• Responsible for staff scheduling that will include section rotations, employee training, employee annual leave, back up for absent employees and shift rotations.
• Coordinate production start-ups and shift change over’s.
• Schedule and conduct shift safety and production meetings.
• Conduct production audits.
• Meet shift production goals.
• Monitor and control reagent/steel balls consumption rates.
• Operate within standard operating procedures (SOP’s) as directed by the Process Coordinator.
• Be visible in the workplace

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
• Diploma in Metallurgy or Mineral Processing.
• Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia.
• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a supervisory role in a large scale Metallurgical Processing Plant.
• Experience with large scale Mills/Flotation circuits and copper concentrate processing an added advantage
• Commissioning experience.
• Able to clearly demonstrate the aptitude to drive a light vehicle and hold a current Zambian drivers license or be able to obtain one.
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Competent in incident/accident investigation
