Job Description
• Book Now Zambia (www.booknowzambia.com) which is owned by Dot Com Zambia, is an award winning Zambian ICT company established in 2009. Book Now Zambia is a proven technology company with several rapidly growing product offerings in the Zambian Public and Private sector with flagship products such as electronic tolling (eTolls) and electronic levies (eLevy), as well as Private Sector driven by products such as electronic fuel (eFuel).
• We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Software Developer to join our dynamic and innovative team. As a Senior Software Developer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge software solutions. Your expertise will be crucial in guiding and mentoring a team of developers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software products.

Responsibilities:
Software Development:
• Lead the design and development of complex software systems, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and project requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX/UI designers, and other developers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Technical Leadership:
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative development environment.
• Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and share industry best practices to enhance the overall skill set of the team.
Architecture and Design:
• Contribute to the architectural decisions of software projects, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with the architecture team to define and implement technical solutions that align with business objectives.
Code Quality and Testing:
• Enforce and maintain code quality through the use of automated testing, code reviews, and continuous integration.
• Implement and advocate for best practices in coding, documentation, and version control.
Problem Solving:
• Analyze complex technical problems and propose effective solutions, considering both short-term fixes and long-term strategies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.
Continuous Learning:
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software development.
• Proactively seek opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge, and share this knowledge with the team

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on designing and implementing scalable and maintainable systems.
• Proficiency in programming languages
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
• Experience with database design and optimization.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms and technologies is a plus.

Other Details
Gross Compensation Range: K15,000 to K25,000
Device Provision: Company Provided
Location: Lusaka Offices
