JOB DETAILS:
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the following position at the Centre for Information and Communication Technologies (CICT) at the University of Zambia
Job Title: Senior Systems Developer – 1 Position
Purpose:
Responsible for effectively and efficiently planning, organizing and controlling the activities of the project members during design, development and implementation of computer applications/operating system software to ensure provision of quality service to users at the University of Zambia.

Responsibilities:
• Translation of user stories into statements of work, business process and business requirements and ensure that those statements are clear, precise and sufficient
• Design complex application software to meet business requirements
• Build application software,
• Lead and coordinate software testing;
• Provide technical leadership on short to medium length projects as required
• Knowledge transfer and training delivery
• Release management for both production and user acceptance test environments;
• Provide technical and user support
• Supervision of subordinates

Qualifications:
• Grade 12 School Certificate or its equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or ICT;
• At least 3 years’ relevant work experience in systems analysis and design, min server and microcomputer environment and knowledge of various software and utilities
• Knowledge of 4GI, DBMS languages, UNIX, Windows NT and Microsoft products added advantage:
• Experience in project management would be an added advantage
• Should show experience of leading a team of developers in systems development
• Member of the Information Communication Technologies Association of Zambia (ICTAZ) or related professional body (proof of valid membership to be attached)
