Overview
Job Description
• The FC2 inner condom is the only available method that the receptive partner can use to prevent STIs, HIV and unplanned pregnancies, and its availability and access must be brought to scale urgently. Our client works closely with a wide range of non-profit organizations and is looking for a Social Behavior Change Communications Expert (SBCC).
• Whilst rooted in the local, it will be visible in national, regional and global networks.
• They seek to advance rights-based, critical and developmental programming to address the needs of intentionally underserved communities across Africa by working collectively to ensure that affected communities are informed about their rights, have access to dignified health care and the agency and access to hold duty bearers to account for the non-realization of these rights.
• Their work is underpinned by a thoughtful, inclusive and consultative practice that, importantly, resonates with their values. This historical work done by the client includes setting up inner condom distribution, marketing and training center’s in all nine provinces of South Africa.
• This initiative focuses on policies related to adolescents and young people aged 10–25 and on the barriers that impede progress in improving SRHR, the practice of self-care and ending the AIDS epidemic. The policy analysis provided insight into the countries policy environment to promote and realise adolescents’ and young people’s SRHR and HIV self-care needs, including access to self-care services and commodities for adolescents and young people.
• Building on this work, it is critical that the basket of HIV prevention options is not only expanded but also maintained with consistent stock-outs of key commodities like condoms and contraceptives, an unfortunate feature of many African public health landscapes that keeps the realisation of everyone’s SRHR further and further out of reach.

In this light, we are looking to engage a results-driven Social Behavior Change Communications Expert (SBCC, to drive the strategic awareness and uptake of the FC2 inner condom in Zambia, Zimbabwe and Kenya. The successful candidate will:
• Have a track record in delivering the impact of public health commodities at the national level
• Active and current relationships with :
• National Department/Ministry of Health
• National Department of Social Development/Welfare
• National Gender Machinery
• National Civil Society Organisations working in Public Health
• National and local media partners
• Working knowledge of the National HIV/STI/Pregnancy Prevention landscape, Global Fund processes, PEPFAR processes etc
• Provide (through existing training offerings) initial and ongoing targeted training support to both government and strategic civil society partners on the FC2 Inner Condom
• Develop post-training demand creation and distribution plans for the FC2 Inner Condom
• Follow up and support the execution of the plans
• Develop a national demand creation strategy and annual calendar of crucial influencing moments, meetings and opportunities with the sole aim of generating demand for the FC2 Inner Condom to support national HIV, STI and Pregnancy prevention strategies
• Have a clear and detailed understanding of the country’s political landscape as it relates to health, social development and gender
• Have a track record of being able to influence a range of actors to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights at the national level

The right candidate will be offered a basic, competitive, market-related retainer and performance-based incentives.
