JOB DETAILS:
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Software Developer at DISI Zambia Ltd in Lusaka. The Software Developer will be responsible for the development, design and implementation of new or modified software products and ongoing business projects. They will be involved in the design implementation and integration of ECM and BPM solutions with other third party and legacy systems for DISI ZAMBIA LIMITED and its clients. The role involves collaborating with our team to create innovative solutions that meet our clients’ needs.

Position Summary:
• Collaborating on the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of web and desktop-based business applications using Microsoft technologies, Newgen technologies, and cloud-based solutions on Microsoft Azure, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, in accordance with established standards.
• Designs, develops, modifies, tests, debugs and evaluates enterprise software to meet the requirements for a wide array of customers.
• Able to work with vendors, and platform specialists to apply, test, and verify updates and upgrades to institutional systems.
• Under limited supervision, work with the team architect to develop automated solutions for the Enterprise Document Management Platform.
• Utilize gained knowledge and experience with an enterprise document management platform to define, design, analyze and document project requirements.
• Assisting in the collection and documentation of user’s requirements and other stakeholders.
• Preparing reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software.
• Participating in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code.
• Responsible for any migration from older applications to newly developed or implemented platforms.
• Developing, refining, and tuning integrations between applications.
• Analyzing and resolving technical and application problems.
• Adhering to high-quality principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget; development, migration, integration etc.
• Providing training and end-user support during and after the implementation process, third-level and other training sessions as required.
• Conduct office automation feasibility studies, including workflow analysis, workflow development, automate business processes by coding using products from various technology partners including but not limited to; Microsoft, Newgen & SAP.
• Assist in integration, and configuration of database infrastructure and business applications used across the organization and ensuring that all applications comply with relevant standards and regulations.
• Maintain and improve the performance of existing software.
• Recommend improvements to existing software programs as necessary.
• Use research and user testing to fine tune applications to meet specific, detailed user cases.
• Training and supervising new team members.
• Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications
• University degree in Computer Science, or a related IT discipline
• 2- 4 years’ experience in a similar role
• Computer programming and coding skills
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts
• Solid understanding of relational database design and querying concepts
• Familiarity with version control concepts
• Comprehension of digitization as a solution
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills including excellent communication skills
