AOS LTD is a Service Provider that was established from the Joint Venture between the Government of Rwanda and Korea Telecom and is incorporated under the laws and regulations of the Republic of Rwanda. The company is engaged in the business of providing advanced Information and Communication Technology (“ICT”) services based on a state-of-the-art Data Center, System development and Integrations, e-Gov projects implementation and Consulting among others.
In order to effectively accomplish its business objectives, AOS Ltd is looking for qualified and competent candidates to support its business operation.
Position
Professional Software Engineer - Java Generic

Roles and Responsibilities
The Sr. Java Application Developer is responsible for designing/developing/configuring the functionality for Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) applications.

• Develops and maintains JEE applications
• Analyzes, designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains applications and application enhancements
• Develops and adheres to standard Agile methodologies to produce project results that are measurable and delivered on time and within budget
• Develops and adheres to team project standards for development including tools, platforms, methodology, and controls to ensure efficiency, quality, and consistency
• Prepares detailed software specifications and test plans
• Provides technical documentation updated to the latest enhancement or release
• Reviews the current technical architecture, including design patterns and development
• Provides defining and meeting business requirements
• Serves as project leader for small initiatives
•  Works with various Rwanda government institutions for their configuration/ development needs
• Works with foreign companies for the solution development
• Provides guidance to less experienced programmers
• Effectively reports on application development

Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following skill sets:

• At the least, more than 3 years of Java, JEE experience.
• In depth knowledge and hands on experience in Spring Framework (Core, MVC, Security, Web services, Spring Portlet MVC).
• Hands on experience in JPA/Hibernate knowledge in developing and tuning SQL scripts (My SQL / Maria DB / Oracle / MSSQL).
• Hands on experience in Tomcat, Nginx
• Experience on Spring Source Tool Suite (STS), Eclipse Experience on Junit test
• Strong knowledge in architecture, agile development method, design patterns, and UML.
•  Knowledge on the Ant / Maven build tool
•  Knowledge on Tomcat or Nginx
• Knowledge on HTML5 and Mobile API
• Knowledge on NodeJS, React and Bootstrap
  Education/ Experience
•  4-year degree in Computer Science (or related curriculum); and/or
•  At least 3-4 years of progressive experience in Java programming; and/or
• Experience in business analysis, Agile framework using Scrum, Integration, and cloud computing skills/experience desired or an equivalent combination of work experience and education would be plus
  Certifications
  Preferred: Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMP)
